Robert "Bob" Lange, Jr.

Robert Louis Lange, Jr. (Bob), 58, of Houston, TX passed away at home of Natural causes on May 22, 2020.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Louis Lange, Sr. and Dorothy Donovan Lange, and one sister, Leonor Lange Morton.

Survivors include one uncle, John Henry Lange, Jr. (the last Lange relative), known as Jack (Pamela) in Dallas, TX;  one sister, Margaret Donovan Lange Roche (Michael) in Albany, GA; one niece, Sara Evelyn Roche Lassiter in Conway, AR; one nephew, Jonathan Preston Roche in Seattle, WA.

Bob was born in Jackson, MS on June 16, 1961. He lived in Hinsdale and Western Springs, IL, then began school in Treasure Cay, Great Abaco, Bahamas. With a father in the hotel/travel industry, Bob’s education continued in San Diego, CA; Agana, Guam; Durango, Co; and finally Port St. Joe, FL. College studies started at FSU in Tallahassee, FL, but oh, how he loved Rice University in Houston.

Bob had a summer internship with FL Congressman Don Fuqua in Washington, DC as Rice University Sr. He then became a Houston “native” working in various hotels, businesses, and taverns as an Accounts Payable Professional. He also designed logos for several businesses.

With the family heritage of books and all the travel growing up, it’s no wonder he knew everything before the age of computers – “just ask Bob”!

Creatively, Bob established Barefoot Graphics for his art works from cards to canvasses to annual calendars, and the Church of St. Adrian, patron saint of beer, complete with newsletters and meetings, all with his quirky wit and his many friends.

He also established the Terrorist Caroling Bus, which included members of the Houston Grand Opera; for years in December the carolers sang at the homes of many official members of the Houston political scene before doing the pub crawl.

Bob has been a Houston Zoo docent, He also assisted in the establishment of Amazing Grace Charities in Bellaire, setting up the initial system to track donors and store data with year-end store information and an email system. He donated a closetful of clothing which was remade into runway items. Maria says: “quiet with a big heart, simple but complex”.

Artistic, creative, eccentric, Mensa, Houston sports-lover, well-liked by most – his own person!
