Elizabeth " Beth" Strange

Elizabeth "Beth" Curbello Strange, 72, of Texas City, Texas, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022, in Katy, Texas.

A Celebration of Life and Reception in memory of Beth will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, June 10, 2022, at St. John's United Methodist Church in Texas City.

Beth was born August 8, 1949 in Freeport, Texas. She graduated from Texas City High School in 1967, and continued on to earn both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Education. Upon completion of her Master's Degree, Beth began teaching in Fort Worth before eventually returning to her home town of Texas City where she married Jack Strange, her high school sweetheart, and taught math for several years at Blocker Middle School. After leaving Blocker, Beth stayed home caring for her two young daughters, Kristi and Jeanne, while working on another Master's Degree. When she returned to work, it was as an Educational Diagnostician for Dickinson ISD until she retired in 2009. After she and her husband both retired, they enjoyed living near friends in Huntsville, Texas for several years. A few years after Jack passed away, Beth moved to Katy, Texas where she spent her remaining years close to her daughters and grandchildren.

Beth's passions revolved around her faith, family and fellowship. She adored children and found so much joy in her own family but also the kids she taught and tested along the way. Her love of God was seen in her generous spirit and time spent helping others through church activities, mission trips and much more. She enjoyed gardening, social events, traveling and spoiling her grandkids. Beth really cared about people and will be greatly missed by her family.

Beth is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Ed "Doc" and Dorothy Curbello, her siblings James Curbello and Penny Curbello Williams, and her beloved husband, Jack Strange.

Survivors include daughters Kristi Strange and her boyfriend Michael Alexander, and Jeanne Sharp and her husband, Travis. Beth is also blessed to be survived by her three grandchildren Audrey, Jack, and Abigail Sharp, along with her sister-in-law Dorothy Strange Zavitz and her husband, Steve, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her memory.
